* Quirks
- Things which hurt your character
- Before rolling: raise difficulty of a challenge when used, but often regains one karma on a success
* Advancement
- Gain a perk or quirk, or,
- Convert a permanent affliction to a quirk, or,
- Every second advancement: gain a resolve or karma to a maximum of six
* Afflictions
- Reduces your maximum resolve by one
- Typically fixed on scene change, though some might be longer
- Can be "permanent" which cost a permanent loss of karma to buy out
* Currencies
** Karma
- Spend after a roll to reduce target by one
- A challenge can only have one karma spent on it, by one person
** Resolve
- Health, basically
- Characters with 0 resolve are "dead" or otherwise out of play until restored
* Challenge
- Must roll equal or higher to target for sucess
- Opposing rolls treat highest dice of a participant as the participant's target
- Complex challenges have multiple pieces of *effort*, which represent individual
