TorToiSe's codebase and documentation appears to be deliberately sabotaged in a way that means only other AI engineers or people with access to great hardware can actually modify it.

dVAE checkpoint was uploaded to Hugging Face but then "deleted" in a recoverable way.

All public documentation appears to be wrong wrt. certain training constants.

These issues appear to be recoverable; the project reclaimed enough to be able to do fine tuning and thus clone voices (albeit still with significant GPU expense.)
