• Key switches: when pressing a key (usually in some far off, never used pitch) the samples which will be played back are changed.
• An "expression map" tells Cubase which of these notes are the key switches.
• You can then see these in a separate, labelled view.

Types of Expressions in Cubase

• Continuous: Activate switch until another switch is activated.
• Attribute: Activate switch for this note only.
