Thoughts on "Lenz Cancelling"

Alex attempts to direct the magnetism down a toroid where it then forms an opposing pole to itself and cancels the magnetism. Bro uses a very large number of wires in series and wrapped around a core to pull current.

Conjecture: where normally care is taken to try and minimize energy that is trapped in the pole and lost as heat, these two either make the energy cancel itself [Alex] or have so much inductance in the copper that its fully discharged [Bro].
